Important Ordering Information

1. When paying by PayPal, please use your own home address as the shipping address. We will get the orphanage or foster family address directly from you.  

2. Please send the Chinese characters for both the name of your child and the orphanage. The characters are needed for accurate identification. Send to Adele at lehall88@yahoo.com. You can find this information in your CCAA acceptance letter or your Pre-Approval letter. You may also fax the characters. Our North American Toll Free Fax Number: 1-866-691-1250.

3. A Letter is strongly recommended if you are sending a package before you receive your child. The letter explains the package to orphanage staff. 

4. Delivery time - Cake and fruit gifts arrive 1 to 2 days after we place the order.  Pillow packages arrive in 4 to 7 days. All other package options include Chinese Super Express Delivery which is the Chinese equivalent to UPS delivery in the USA. Total time for your package to arrive at an orphanage is approximately 9 to 10 business days after you place your order. We email you when the package arrives. We also email you the tracking number. You can check tracking numbers on the Chinese Post Office's web site.

Disclaimer

It will be up to the orphanage staff to take photos with any cameras we send on your behalf. We do not have any agreements with them regarding photography, and we cannot guarantee that orphanage staff will take good photos or return all of the items or answers to your questions when you receive your child. Orphanages are sometimes overwhelmed with managing the adoption process and can forget to bring some items when they meet you.

Please develop the film in China. The film may be sensitive to airport x-ray machines.

We send your photos to China to be printed in a photo shop as regular 3.5 x 5 prints. Our associates will send the photos with the package.

If your child is in the orphanage or with foster parents, you may add a camera for taking pictures of your child. Cameras have flash and are loaded with 36-exposure film.  

In your letter to the orphanage, you can ask the orphanage to take pictures and return the camera and film to you at adoption time

For an additional fee, we offer a service to retrieve and develop the film and email you the pictures before you go to China (see below)

This service retrieves the film from the camera you sent to the orphanage or foster parents in the care package, develops the pictures and emails them to you.

Please note that this service is not appropriate if you plan to travel to China within 35 days after placing an order.

Part 1: Check with Orphanage

We first check with the orphanage or foster parents to see if they will send the film back to us.  There is a non-refundable $25 fee for calling the orphanage.  We cannot predict whether they will cooperate with us.

Part 2: Get Photos

If the orphanage or foster parents agree to send the film to our contacts in China, then we can go ahead with the film retrieval service.  Fees include the money for the orphanage or foster parents to mail film back to our contacts in China, calling them (usually several times) to encourage them to mail the film, photo-processing fee, and emailing the photos to you.

You may include your own items with a care package. For example, you can include a blanket with your own scent by sleeping with it for a few nights. This may ease your child's transition to your care by providing an opportunity to recognize your scent at adoption time. Adele will email you with instructions about how to include your items when you order this service.  IMPORTANT - Adding this service to your care package increases delivery time to four weeks.

Orphanages love to get cake!  If your adopted child is going to spend a birthday in the orphanage before you arrive, he or she will love to get a birthday cake!  It is culturally appropriate to send a birthday cake any time, even after the birthday date.

We order fresh cake from a Chinese cake service.  Cakes are delivered 1 to 2 days after we place the order. The orphanage staff can present the cake to your child along with your care package.
